This one is our own. It's in the portfolio because it was built with exactly the same process as the client work — and because it shows what happens when a platform outlives its aftermarket.
The Challenge
At over 30 years old, the C4 Corvette's LT1/LT4/LT5 platform has next to no aftermarket support left. The handful of intake options that used to exist have all been discontinued. Owners of a still-capable performance car were left with nothing but the stock setup and a used market for parts nobody makes anymore.
We set out to design a modern, fully bolt-on intake for the platform.
The Process
We 3D-scanned the C4 engine bay with and without the stock intake, plus the stock intake itself, to capture exact clearances and mounting points. Scanning all three states matters more than it sounds — it defines both the space available and the interfaces the new part has to respect.
Several prototype iterations were designed and tested around a BBK air filter already proven on the C5/C6 platform, refining the design into a true bolt-on solution: no cutting, no custom brackets. Building around a filter with an established supply chain was a deliberate call — a part that depends on a component nobody stocks is a part with an expiration date.
Ten color options for the anodized aluminum and laser-etched logo disc options round out the finished part.
The Result
A production intake now available on campsitecarbon.com, giving C4 owners a modern, bolt-on option where none has existed for years. Scan to CAD took 72 hours.
